My aim is to offer a holistic, whole-person coaching program which recognizes that YOU are the expert of your own life. My role as coach is to support you in your journey of self-discovery.

As a certified Psychological Health & Safety Advisor, I can identify if someone could benefit from the support of a therapist and refer them to colleagues in the field of psychology, depending on your location.

Coaching vs. Mentorship vs. Therapy

Coaching is the creative support of a person who is in a process of self-discovery, looking for change or searching for a new perspective. Coaching does not focus on the past, but instead is future-focused, helping an individual get closer to their objectives, generating action plans, gaining a new outlook or creating measurable and monitorable goals.

A coach can help with identify and break free from patterns that are not serving a person's development and gain fresh perspectives and support on personal challenges and opportunities.

Coaching is not mentoring. Whereas in mentoring, the mentor is more qualified and experienced than the mentee, in coaching, the expert of your own life is you.

Coaching is not a replacement or alternative to therapy or psychological counselling.  Only therapists and psychologists can make a medical or clinical diagnosis and deal with definable dysfunctions.

Though coaching is neither mentoring nor therapy, it can represent additional support that is different from the typical strategies on mental health.

The Coaching Relationship & Confidentiality

In a professional coaching/coachee relationship, you can expect support in

  1. Determining your goals and vision
  2. Defining what success means to you
  3. Planning and accountability

All sessions are strictly confidential, and will remain confidential unless you give your written consent stating otherwise.

Notes and information kept about our sessions is kept in a secure place with no access to anyone other than the coach.

Principles

  • Life is a continuous creative process, and creativity lives within everyone.
  • Each behaviour must be observed within their context.
  • If you change one part of you, it affects the whole. We cannot look at one part without looking at them all.
  • Mistakes are opportunities.
  • It is important to respect the uniqueness and life philosophy of each individual.
  • Perception, beliefs, interpretations and personality all play a part in each individual's unique makeup.
  • Events and experiences are inherently neutral. What we make of them creates the feelings.
  • If you can believe it, you can do it.

Feedback

As your coach, I vow to remain open and receptive to feedback. I welcome all and any opportunity to discuss and co-create a new and different space in order to get the most out of our sessions together.
